What is the difference between the silicone hydrogel material and traditional hydrogel material?
The biggest difference between these two materials is the oxygen permeability (Dk/t), the oxygen permeability (Dk/t) of the water gel contact lenses is about 20~30 on average, however, the oxygen permeability of the new high oxygen permeability silicone hydrogel contact lenses (DK/t) is above 100(QualisR is 125). Its high oxygen permeability allows the eyes to maintain health under long-term wear.
Is there an adaptation period for silicone hydrogel products?
Silicone hydrogel contact lenses contain silicone, which has the characteristics of high oxygen permeability. Compared with traditional hydrogel materials, it is slightly harder. Very few people (about 1%) may experience some adaptation symptoms and need to adapt to the initial stage of wearing. It varies from person to person and the average adaptation takes about 1 to 3 days.
